Since our Mini Lites are DC powered and rely on the included (or 3rd party power supply/transformer) in order to power the lights, traditional plug-in dimmers, such as those used with lamps or other AC-powered light strings, will not work, as the transformer itself is not built to handle a "dimmed" input power. Never plug your Tru-Tone Mini Lites transformer (the small power brick) into a AC-powered lamp-style dimmer.
That said, there are many "DC LED dimmer" modules on the market and you should be able to source them from places like Amazon. These dimmers will need to be wired in-line after the transformer but before the first mini lite on the string.
Our mini lites page has an optional bare leads connector that you can use for this purpose without needing to cut your light string (see image below). The bare leads connector has male threading intended to attach tot he female-threaded connection on the Mini Lites themselves, whereby the bare leads can be wired to your DC LED dimmer module.
We hope to offer more guidance on this topic in the future, but since our mini lites are our newest product, we haven't yet had much time to create those resources – so for the time being this may be best saved for folks who are comfortable tinkering or have experience with DC-powered LED installations.
