All steady-lit (non-Twinkle) C7, C9 and S14 Tru-Tone bulbs are designed and made to support full-range, smooth dimming capabilities.
While we've never found a dimmer that hasn't worked with our bulbs, some customers report that some brands work better than others at transitioning smoothly from one brightness level to another. Even if the transition isn't smooth, we've found them all to work and be stable once the brightness you desire has been set.
We don't recommend one brand over another, but here are few dimmers our customers have reported success with:
One final note about dimming LED lights like our C7, C9 or S14 bulbs is that most dimmers require there to be a minimum load on the circuit for the dimming to work, and since LEDs are so energy efficient, a small amount of bulbs might not be drawing enough power for it to dim the electrical load. One trick we've found for these situations is to add a single incandescent bulb to boost the power draw to dimmable levels, as a single incandescent C7 or C9 bulb will draw 5-7 watts on its own.
