We're happy to report that Tru-Tone bulbs don’t get hot like incandescent bulbs do. They are LED and emit almost no heat, yet are typically just warm enough to melt the snow that falls on them when used outside during the winter!
Used indoors, you'll find they may get slightly warmer than room temperature after being on for awhile, or if laid to rest on an insulating surface such as glass or wood.
However, Tru-Tone bulbs will never get as hot as incandescent bulbs and their lower heat output means they are safe to touch without burning your fingers, and they won’t melt or damage your decorations, nor will they dry out or set fire to your tree.
