Why does the Complete Light Set cost more than a string and bulbs purchased separately?

Our Complete Light Sets are slightly more expensive (than if you bought one of our 25-count box of bulbs and a 25-count light string separately) because the box they come in is a bit more heavy duty, costs more to print with its full-color graphics, and the lights are inserted in such a way that they're all hand packed, meaning these sets are a bit more costly to produce.

We introduced our Complete Light Set for those who prefer pre-installed bulbs, as well as for the special, vintage inspired package for gifting, collectors, or displays. We tend to think they're a great option for folks new to this style of lights or for as a gift to the retro lighting enthusiast in your life!

If you are looking for the most cost-effective option for your lighting display, we recommend buying our bulbs and our light strings (or a commercially available light string), separately. Our bulbs are packaged in a sturdy flip-top box and our light strings are sold in a neatly wrapped bundle without a box.

This is a better (and cheaper) option for folks doing larger installations or for people who want to do custom color combinations by means of buying our single-color 25-count boxes or single-color 5-packs.
